Blackbird defends against raiding Crow

A crow possibly looking for a breakfast of scrambled blackbird eggs ran into a vigorous air defense from a resident Red-Winged Blackbird this morning.  Although much smaller than the crow, the blackbird has a wickedly sharp beak and showed no hesitation in attacking the raider.  At times, the crow took the offensive, but the blackbird always managed to turn the battle around.  This skirmish ended when I walked up on the hill (northwest corner of the park) to get a better picture of the combat; instead, my presence drove the crow away.  On other occasions I have seen two and three blackbirds team up to drive away a White-Tailed Kite.
