From the mainland it looked like a locked-in grey evening on the Bay. A massive wall of fog against the western horizon. Cold wind, almost nobody at the park. But once arrived at Spinnaker Circle, the beginnings of a dramatic light show unfolded over the West Marin hills. A moving array of holes in the clouds opened up to let the setting sun, otherwise occluded, send in beams of gold and silver. Mt. Livermore on Angel Island provided the dark background in this image.
